25,200â-30,000 (3 days per week, pro-rata from 42,000â-50,000 FTE) Remote with UK Midlands in-person days
Better Futures Multi‑Academy Trust is a group of sixth form colleges in the UK Midlands. We are building two products—ARC, a 360‑degree leadership platform, and Swaya, a student feedback app for iOS and Android. Both products are live, have paying clients, and are ready to scale with the right developer.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of ARC and Swaya, including development, quality, and roadmap.
- Work directly with the founders on product direction.
- Inherit and improve a solid Rails and React codebase.
- Manage iOS and Android app updates.
- Solve real UX problems and ship noticeable improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong Ruby on Rails experience for production environments.
- React frontend skills with a genuine care for UI/UX quality.
- Mobile app experience: iOS and Android (React Native, Flutter, or native).
- Product‑oriented mindset, not just ticket‑focused.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, honest about unknowns, and quick to learn.
- UK‑based, right to work without sponsorship.
