Full-Stack Developer in Industrial Automation

Builds and maintains a building-automation platform using React/TypeScript frontend, Go backend, REST/WebSocket APIs, and real-time data pipelines.
CF Systems – Sphere Systems is looking for an experienced Full-Stack Software Developer to join our development team in Bundoora.
You will work on the continued development and commercialisation of our Australian-developed building management and industrial automation platform.
This is primarily a software development role, working across modern web applications, backend services, APIs, real-time data and databases. You will also work closely with our electronics and engineering team to integrate the software with controllers, I/O modules and other field devices.
Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain frontend applications using React, JavaScript and TypeScript
Build real-time dashboards, configuration screens and monitoring tools
Develop and extend backend services using Go
Build and maintain REST APIs and WebSocket services
Work with SQLite, Redis and shared-memory data structures
Integrate software with controllers, I/O modules and field devices
Develop and support communication with building automation systems
Debug and resolve software, integration and performance issues
Improve automated testing, reliability and software release processes
Support deployment and testing on Linux-based controller hardware
Work with the development team on software architecture, code quality and product improvements
Help take the platform from active development through to a scalable commercial product
Skills and experience
We are looking for strong experience in:
JavaScript

Go
REST APIs
WebSockets and real-time applications
SQL / SQLite
Git and modern software development practices
Developing and maintaining production software
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
Building Management Systems (BMS)
HVAC or building automation
BACnet or Modbus
Industrial automation or IoT
Linux development
C or C++
Raspberry Pi or embedded Linux
Hardware and software integration
Real-time monitoring and control systems
This role would suit a developer who enjoys working on a complete product and solving practical problems across frontend, backend and system integration.
You will work closely with our existing software, electronics and engineering team and have direct input into the development and future direction of the Sphere platform.
