Full Stack Developer
Rundl is building the technology platform for the next generation of property transactions across Australia and New Zealand. Our products combine secure multi-party collaboration, workflow automation, AI-assisted legal delivery, and new transaction services to make buying and selling property faster, safer, and substantially more efficient.
The platform has already supported more than 60,000 property matters. We are now entering a major AI-driven scale-up phase, rebuilding and extending the core platform, automating large parts of the conveyancing process, launching new products, and creating new ways for law firms and major partners to serve customers.
Rundl includes two closely connected core products. RundlCore is our secure multi-party transaction workspace. RundlPM, previously known as Launch, is our practice management and transaction platform. Teams work across the broader Rundl platform, with practical specialisation where useful rather than permanent ownership of a single product or codebase.
The roleYou will build and improve RundlCore and RundlPM, the connected products that help law firms, partners and customers complete property transactions. This is not a role for someone who needs every requirement fully specified before starting. You will work in a small pod with meaningful autonomy and will be expected to make sound technical and product decisions.
What you will do- Design, build, test and release full-stack features across RundlCore and RundlPM, working deeply in at least one core technology environment and building capability across the wider platform.
- Work across both core products rather than becoming permanently confined to one product or codebase, while developing useful areas of technical specialisation.
- Translate product intent into practical technical solutions, raising ambiguities and risks early rather than waiting for exhaustive specifications.
- Use AI tools expertly throughout the software-development lifecycle, including analysis, implementation, testing, documentation, refactoring and debugging.
- Apply human judgement to architecture, integration, security, performance, usability, edge cases and end-to-end quality.
- Participate in code review, automated testing, release management and production support.
- Contribute to the pod’s decisions about the appropriate balance of documentation, testing, technical debt and delivery velocity.
- Collaborate effectively with New Zealand product colleagues and Philippine-based engineering team members.
- Work on a proven platform used across more than 60,000 property matters.
- Join during a major AI-driven rebuild and product expansion.
- Use AI as a core delivery capability, while concentrating human effort on the judgement, architecture and quality decisions AI does not yet handle well.
- Work remotely from anywhere in New Zealand, with optional access to our Auckland office.
- Build capability across both RundlCore and RundlPM rather than being confined to a single product or codebase.
- Demonstrated capability delivering production full-stack applications, with deep capability in either C#/.NET or Node.js/TypeScript and the aptitude to work across both.
- Strong commercial capability in at least one core backend environment: C# and modern .NET, or Node.js and TypeScript; plus experience with modern frontend frameworks and cloud-hosted systems.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging and systems-thinking capability.
- Advanced practical use of AI tools for software engineering.
- Ability to work from product outcomes and imperfect information rather than relying on fully detailed requirements.
- Clear written and verbal communication and a high standard of personal accountability.
- Existing right to work in New Zealand.
Rundl operates with small, accountable teams. We provide clear outcomes and meaningful autonomy, and expect people to determine the right way to deliver. Auckland is our preferred base, but we remain open to strong candidates elsewhere in New Zealand. Applicants must already have the right to work in New Zealand.
