Ascendion is looking for a Mid-Level Developer to join our development team and help build, enhance, and maintain web applications. The role will work across both frontend and backend development, using modern JavaScript technologies.
Location: Pasay
Must Have: React.js, Next.js, Node.js, and NestJS
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain web applications using React.js and Next.js
Develop backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and NestJS
Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable frontend components
Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and services
Develop business logic and database-driven applications
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues
Perform code reviews and maintain code quality and standards
Work with databases and ensure proper data handling and integration
Collaborate with developers, QA, business users, and other stakeholders to deliver application features
Participate in testing, deployment, and production support activities
Contribute to improving application performance, security, and reliability
Requirements:
5 years of professional software development experience
Hands-on experience with React.js
Experience with Next.js
Hands-on backend development experience using Node.js
Experience with NestJS
Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with Git/version control
Good understanding of software development lifecycle and coding best practices
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a development team
Nice to Have:
Experience with Docker
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with automated testing
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
