Full Stack Developer

About the Role
We are hiring a Full Stack Developer to build and maintain the Roots Funding platform end to end. You will work across the front end, back end, and data layer, and you will own features from scoping through to production. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable operating without heavy process and who wants meaningful ownership over the product.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across the full stack
• Develop and maintain APIs and back-end services
• Design database schemas and write efficient queries
• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces from design specifications
• Integrate and maintain third-party services, including document signing, payments, CRM, and event platforms
• Ensure platform security, performance, and reliability
• Participate in code review and help set engineering standards
• Debug and resolve production issues
• Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform scales
• Maintain clear technical documentation

Tech Stack

• Front end: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
• Back end: Node.js, REST APIs
• Database: PostgreSQL
• Infrastructure: Azure, Git-based CI/CD
• Integrations: DocuSign, Luma, CRM and email tooling

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional full stack development experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Production experience with React and a modern back-end runtime
• Solid working knowledge of relational databases
• Demonstrated experience integrating third-party APIs
• Strong understanding of web fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, and API security
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, private markets, capital raising, or investment platforms
• Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-sensitive environments
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
• Prior experience as an early engineer at a startup
