Full Stack Developer
Summary
Mid-level full stack developer joining a small in-house tech team in Borehamwood, owning features end to end on a lending platform — Laravel (PHP) backend, Vue 3 frontend, MySQL, REST APIs/webhooks, queues, reporting dashboards, PDF/Excel generation, and third-party integrations like Plaid, KYC/AML providers and Companies House.
Salary: £45,000 - 45,000 per year
Requirements:- Commercial experience with PHP and Laravel 8+, including Eloquent, migrations, queues and events
- Experience building applications with Vue 3, including components and state management
- Good working knowledge of MySQL, including queries, indexes and basic performance considerations
- Experience working with REST APIs and webhooks
- Comfortable using Git, working with branches and participating in code reviews
- A careful approach to production systems and customer data, with a habit of checking and testing work before release
- Desirable: Tailwind CSS and component libraries such as shadcn or Reka UI
- Desirable: ECharts, Chart.js or D3
- Desirable: Vite, Webpack/Laravel Mix, Redis, AWS or Azure SQL
- Desirable: PHPUnit or Pest, and an interest in writing automated tests
- Desirable: Experience in financial services, lending or property finance, or an interest in learning the industry
- Deliver features, enhancements and fixes across key platform workflows, including lending and ledger processes, borrower and investor dashboards, document generation, and broker and introducer journeys
- Build and enhance reporting dashboards in our Vite/Vue reporting application, from data querying and processing through to charts and tables
- Develop background processing and queue-based jobs, automated reporting, and PDF and Excel document generation
- Develop and maintain third-party integrations, including KYC/AML providers, open banking services such as Plaid, Companies House, and Microsoft Teams notifications
- Gradually increase automated test coverage to improve reliability, maintainability and confidence in releases
