Full Stack Developer

Location: McLean, VA or Bethesda, MD
Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly required to start
Salary: $210K to $225K

We are seeking a hands-on Full Stack Developer to join a high-performing technical team supporting mission-critical applications. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who enjoys writing code, solving complex technical problems, and contributing to architecture and technical direction while also providing team-level leadership.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience across both front-end and back-end development, with a particular emphasis on Python, Flask, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using modern software development practices.

• Build scalable back-end services and APIs using Python and Flask.

• Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end applications using TypeScript and React.

• Work with PostgreSQL and other data systems to design efficient data models, queries, and integrations.

• Leverage AWS services to develop, deploy, and support cloud-based applications.

• Use Pandas and Python-based data processing tools to manipulate, analyze, and integrate data.

• Contribute hands-on code throughout the development lifecycle rather than functioning solely in a management capacity.

• Help establish technical direction, development standards, and best practices for the team.

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other developers.

• Collaborate with engineers, technical leads, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment.

• Identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.

• Support the full software development lifecycle in an Agile environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly required to start.

• Strong professional experience in full-stack software development.

• Hands-on experience with Python and Flask.

• Strong front-end development experience with TypeScript and React.

• Experience working with PostgreSQL and relational databases.

• Experience with AWS and cloud-based application development.

• Experience with Pandas or similar Python data-processing frameworks.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, and modern development practices.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a technical team.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a technical lead, team lead, or senior technical contributor.

• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other developers.

• Experience designing and building applications from the ground up.

• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

• Experience developing solutions within a cleared government or national security environment.

• Familiarity with additional AWS services, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.
