Full Stack Engineer (Android + Backend)

About the Role
We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer with 4+ years of experience building Android applications and backend services. In this role, you’ll work across both Android and backend systems using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot. You’ll help build and maintain reliable applications and APIs used in real-world production environments.
You should be comfortable moving between mobile and backend development, understanding how systems connect from the app experience to server-side functionality.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin
- Build and improve backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Design and maintain REST APIs
- Integrate Android apps with backend systems
- Work with databases and backend data models
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across mobile and backend systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver features
- Improve application performance, reliability, and stability
- Support CI/CD and deployment processes when needed
- Investigate production issues and contribute to long-term solutions
- Follow engineering best practices for testing, documentation, and version control
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong understanding of Android architecture, app lifecycle, and modern architecture components (including ViewModels and lifecycle‑aware components)
- Experience integrating REST APIs, handling JSON data, and implementing local storage, caching, and background synchronization
- Proficiency with error handling, debugging, performance optimization, and Android Studio/Gradle
- Professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, backend architecture, authentication, and API security
- Experience building, testing, debugging, and maintaining scalable backend services
General Skills
- Strong problem‑solving and debugging abilities
- Comfortable working independently and asking questions when needed
- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows
- Clear communication with technical and non‑technical teams
- Interest in working across the full stack and learning new technologies
Nice to Have
- Docker or Kubernetes

You’re a practical and collaborative engineer who enjoys working across both mobile and backend systems. You don’t need to be the most senior expert in either area, but you can contribute meaningfully across the stack and are interested in growing your technical ownership over time.
