Full Stack Engineer (Backend)
Summary
A backend-focused full-stack engineer designs, builds, and maintains the core backend services of a cloud-based digital platform — APIs, PostgreSQL databases, business workflows, audit logging, and security remediation — using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS, while supporting CI/CD pipelines and working with frontend, QA, and infrastructure teammates.
Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript. Cloud Application Deployment:
Develop backend services that can be deployed into AWS environments using approved deployment patterns. Workflow Systems:
Design and develop booking, approval, case management, event management, CRM, or other workflow-heavy systems. CI/CD Support:
Contribute to build scripts, deployment configuration, database migration automation, and pipeline troubleshooting. Security Remediation:
Resolve findings from SAST, dependency scanning, secret scanning, DAST, and VAPT reports. Required Qualifications Experience:
At least 3-4 years of professional software development experience. Backend:
Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, or NestJS. Database:
Strong experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, relational modelling, transactions, and query optimisation. API:
Experience designing and implementing REST APIs. Authentication & Authorisation:
Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC, JWT/session handling, RBAC, and secure API access. AWS Application Awareness:
Familiarity with AWS-hosted applications and services such as Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager. DevOps:
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker basics, environment variables, and deployment troubleshooting. Security:
Understanding of secure coding, OWASP Top 10, input validation, API security, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation. Testing:
Experience with unit testing, API testing, and integration testing.
