Full Stack Engineer

Summary

Build and maintain enterprise AML software using Java/Spring Boot and Angular, ensuring regulatory compliance for a major bank’s cash transaction reporting systems.

We're partnering with a leading investment bank to hire an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join a high-profile team within the bank's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) function.

This role sits within a major cash transaction reporting programme, supporting a business-critical application responsible for monitoring, processing, and reporting large cash transactions. You'll be joining a collaborative team delivering solutions that help meet regulatory and compliance obligations across the bank.

While this is a full-stack position, the focus is primarily on backend development, with approximately 70% Java development and 30% Angular UI work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise-scale applications within the AML and regulatory reporting domain
  • Building robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Developing and maintaining Angular-based user interfaces
  • Writing efficient, high-performance SQL queries and database solutions
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and QA teams
  • Contributing to system design, technical decisions, and best practice development standards
  • Supporting the ongoing enhancement and modernisation of critical banking applications
  • Ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with banking regulations

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Solid front-end development experience using Angular
  • Strong SQL and database development skills
  • Experience developing and supporting large-scale enterprise applications
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and design principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments is advantageous
  • Financial services or banking experience
  • Experience working on regulatory, compliance, AML, fraud, risk, or reporting platforms
  • Exposure to cloud technologies and modern DevOps practices
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

Working Pattern

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite attendance:

  • Every Monday and Tuesday
  • The first Friday of each month
