About the Role

This is a hands-on, high-ownership engineering role at an early-stage AI startup building sales automation software for distributors and manufacturers. You'll work across the full stack to design and ship AI-powered systems that are core to the product, collaborating closely with a small, product-focused engineering team where your contributions have direct business impact.

What You'll Do

  • Own the architecture and design of AI systems end-to-end.

  • Collaborate with fellow engineers across the full stack to deliver complex features.

  • Build data pipelines to process large-scale unstructured data efficiently.

  • Deploy and manage software in cloud environments.

  • Make the backend scalable, stable, and performant.

  • Develop reusable components and well-structured API layers.

  • Write clean, maintainable code backed by sensible testing strategies.

What We're Looking For

  • Proficiency building end-to-end AI-powered web applications with Next.js/React (frontend) and Python (backend).

  • Strong experience with TypeScript in frontend development.

  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling.

  • Experience designing and implementing scalable RESTful APIs for production web applications.

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines for large-scale unstructured data.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern CI/CD practices.

  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and deployment.

  • Experience with ML/NLP technologies including embeddings, vector databases, and RLHF, with production deployment experience.

  • Experience with ML model serving and inference pipelines in production environments.

  • A product-minded mindset with a track record of shipping complex web applications.

  • Ability to own architecture and design decisions with clear documentation and high code quality standards.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: €80,000 – €130,000 per year. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Remote work is not available for this position.
