Summary

Clera is hiring a full-stack engineer for its AI infrastructure platform for enterprise: owning product surfaces end-to-end (UI, APIs, data models), roughly 60% frontend/API work and 40% backend services, on-site in San Mateo with visa sponsorship available.

About the Role

This is a full-stack engineering role at a small, senior team building AI infrastructure for enterprise environments. You will own product surfaces end-to-end, from the interfaces engineers and customers interact with, to the APIs and data models underneath, with direct impact on how the platform grows and scales.

What You'll Do

  • Own complete product surfaces end-to-end, covering interfaces, APIs, and data models.

  • Split your time roughly 60% on frontend and API layer work and 40% on backend services.

  • Make complex system behavior legible and fast for engineers using the platform.

  • Define architecture, ship it to production, monitor its behavior, and fix what breaks.

  • Work without handed-down design files or specs, making the right calls independently.

  • Remove growth ceilings by making the customer-facing product obvious and intuitive.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years building full-stack applications with shipped products in production.

  • Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue, with an eye for making complex system behavior understandable through UI.

  • Strong backend fundamentals in languages such as Python, Go, Node.js, or Java, with experience designing and implementing production APIs and data models.

  • Genuine full-stack capability: comfortable going deep on distributed systems while also owning the interface layer.

  • Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions independently and see them through to production.

  • Experience with databases and data modeling for systems requiring real-time performance.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ownership, thriving without detailed specs or design files.

  • Startup-speed execution and a builder-oriented background.

  • Bonus: experience with knowledge graphs, semantic systems, graph databases, real-time inference, agent-based systems, or developer-facing infrastructure products.

Location

On-site in San Mateo, California, United States. Visa sponsorship is available.
