Full Stack Engineer (Consultant / Senior Consultant)

About the Role

Our client is a technology consultancy engaged to modernise a Singapore public sector digital service, migrating a legacy platform to a modern, cloud-native architecture. This role offers engineers the opportunity to own delivery end to end — from frontend and backend development through to infrastructure, security integration, and production support. You will work on high-impact systems used by the public, where engineering quality and reliability genuinely matter. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and configure application features end to end, migrating legacy systems to a cloud-native, containerised platform on AWS
  
• Build responsive, accessible web frontends using ReactJS, TypeScript, and Next.js
  
• Develop backend services and RESTful APIs in Golang and/or Kotlin, including orchestration of long-running business processes via a workflow engine
  
• Provision and maintain secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles (e.g. Terraform or equivalent)
  
• Implement authentication and authorisation controls, including integration with government identity frameworks and standards such as OIDC and SAML
  
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deploy containerised workloads to Kubernetes, and instrument applications for observability and monitoring
  
• Support production deployments, participate in incident resolution, and contribute to ongoing operational stability
  
• Write clean, well-tested, and documented code; participate actively in code reviews and engineering best-practice discussions
  

Additional responsibilities for Senior Consultant level:

• Define technical architecture and target-state design for the modernised platform, including migration sequencing, risk management, and cutover planning
  
• Lead delivery across multiple workstreams, coordinating with product owners, DevSecOps teams, and agency stakeholders
  
• Set engineering standards, provide strategic technical direction, and mentor team members
  

Requirements

• Consultant level: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on full stack development experience; Senior Consultant level: 7 or more years, including at least 2–3 years leading technical delivery or defining solution architecture
  
• Proficiency in frontend development with ReactJS and TypeScript, and backend development with Golang and/or Kotlin
  
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes, as well as AWS cloud services and Terraform (or equivalent IaC tooling)
  
• Demonstrated experience migrating or modernising legacy applications is strongly preferred; prior delivery on Singapore Government or public sector projects (is a bonus)
  
• Familiarity with observability platforms (e.g. Dynatrace, Datadog), workflow engines (e.g. Temporal), or rules engines (e.g. Open Policy Agent) (is a bonus)
  
• Experience implementing OIDC or SAML authentication, RBAC/ABAC authorisation, or infrastructure and container security practices (is a bonus)
