Full Stack Engineer
Summary
Full-stack engineer at a Series A London startup building AI that reads finance documents (e.g. PDFs) and extracts the data automatically. You'd ship features end to end across a Python/FastAPI backend and React/TypeScript front end, working from the London office 4 days a week.
Somewhere in London right now, someone in finance is reading a 400-page PDF so they can copy three numbers into a spreadsheet.
I'm working with a team building the AI that does that for them, and they're hiring four full-stack engineers.
They're a recently funded (Series A) startup in London. Around ten engineers today, heading to eighteen, and these four seats sit on the team that owns everything the user actually sees and touches.
What you'd be doing:
- Building product features end to end, from the Python API to the React front end
- Turning AI that reads thousands of documents into something a finance team trusts on deadline
- Shipping quickly in a small team, where you own what you build
What they're looking for:
- Good product instinct and a real feel for the front end
- Python on the backend (FastAPI), React and TypeScript on the front
- If most of your backend work has been in another language, that's fine, as long as you're comfortable happy to be interviewed in Python
- Startup or scale-up experience helps, but if you don't tick every box, don't be put off
The details:
- £90k to £140k plus equity
- Office in London, 4 days a week
- Process: a chat with the CTO, a Python coding session, then a couple of hours in the office meeting the team
Building AI products that people actually rely on is in pretty high demand at the moment, so it's a good one to have on the CV.
