About the role

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer (Java) to join our engineering team in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position where you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications using Java and modern web technologies. You will be responsible for contributing to all layers of our application architecture, from backend services to frontend interfaces, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and user experience. Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy full-stack web applications using Java and contemporary web frameworks

• Design and implement robust backend services, APIs, and microservices that meet scalability and performance requirements

• Build responsive and intuitive front-end interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks and technologies

• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions

• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical design sessions to ensure code quality and best practices

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications to improve performance and resolve production issues

• Maintain and enhance databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and efficient query performance

• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of junior team members

• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in full-stack development

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience

• 3-5 years of professional experience in full-stack software development

• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles

• Solid experience with front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)

• Experience with at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

• Competence with SQL and relational database design (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies

• Understanding of RESTful API design and web services architecture

• Knowledge of software testing practices, including unit testing and integration testing

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly

• Preferred experience with Spring Framework, microservices architecture, Docker, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Preferred experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
