Full Stack Engineer

FULLSTACK ENGINEER

At JoyRide, weʼre building the next generation of mobility and payments solutions — and we need versatile engineers who thrive across the stack. As a Fullstack Engineer, youʼll be working on our web applications and backend systems that power millions of rides and transactions.

This isnʼt a role where youʼll be micromanaged — weʼre looking for engineers who are self-sufficient, resourceful, and know their craft inside out. Youʼll collaborate with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers, delivering features end-to-end from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using React/Angular, Nodejs, Python, and PostgreSQL.
  • Develop and maintain backend APIs, services, and serverless functions on AWS/GCP.
  • Ensure performance, security, and reliability of both frontend and backend systems.
  • Translate design mockups into responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web interfaces.
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with strong attention to best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality features.
  • Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks or technical debt.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose ways to improve our stack and processes.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in fullstack software development.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with expertise in React (Angular experience is a plus).
  • Strong database design and optimization skills with PostgreSQL (NoSQL familiarity a plus).
  • Hands‑on experience with React or React Native on the frontend.
  • Backend experience in Nodejs and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/GCP), serverless functions, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, caching, and performance tuning.
  • Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deliverables with minimal supervision.

Bonus Points

  • Prior experience in startups or Transportation / Mobility as a Service (TMaas).
  • Background in high‑traffic, real‑time platforms.
  • Experience with mobile‑first architectures and offline‑first design.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Contributions to open‑source projects or engineering communities.
