To enhance the Loot experience, we are scaling up our IT department while remaining lean and flexible. Our IT team works in a "flexible but accessible" environment, offering both work‑from‑home and office options and meeting in person when required.

The position

As a full stack engineer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining customer‑facing and internal applications that manage millions of products and serve thousands of customers daily. You will work in a small, business‑aligned team involved in every aspect of the development life cycle and will help transition from legacy to modern technologies.

The tech stack

Loot operates mainly as a Java house with a Next.js front end running both on premise and in the cloud. In addition to Java and Next.js, we use a range of technologies, frameworks and services including Lambda, Cloudflare, Docker/Portainer, Prometheus, Grafana and ELK.

Technical and qualification requirements Building REST APIs and web front ends. Overall solution design, documentation and integration of APIs. Designing, building and implementing database schemas (Postgre SQL). JSON and XML handling. Linux‑based systems and environments. Data structures, algorithm design, problem‑solving, complexity analysis and secure coding best practices. Analyzing and troubleshooting distributed systems, tackling problems of load, scale and optimizations of complex large‑scale deployments. 4+ years of experience. Strong growth mindset and motivation to continuously improve self and team performance. Highly passionate about hands‑on coding. Ability to work autonomously as an individual and as part of a team. Advantageous Fintech / e‑commerce experience. Previous remote working experience. Experience with containerization.
