Position Brief
Full-Stack Engineer: Creative Frontend & Shopify
Department: Digital
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan (Remote / Hybrid)
Maison No.3 is a French-inspired creative house dedicated to building brands of enduring value.
Working at the intersection of strategy, design, technology, communication, and culture, the Maison partners with founders, businesses, and institutions to create identities, experiences, and systems that leave a lasting impression.
Everything we build is guided by clarity of thought, precision in execution, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. We believe great work is never accidental; it is intentional, disciplined, and thoughtfully considered.
Maison No.3 is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with exceptional strength in Creative Frontend Engineering and Shopify. This is a role for someone who understands that a website is simultaneously a technical system, a visual experience, and an expression of a brand.
The primary focus of this position will be the development of highly curated, design-led digital experiences across both custom-coded and Shopify environments. The successful candidate will work closely with Interface Architects, Brand, Motion, Growth and the wider House to translate ambitious creative direction into responsive, interactive and technically exceptional websites.
While Creative Frontend Engineering will be the principal area of excellence, the role requires sufficient full-stack capability to understand and develop the systems supporting the experience, including APIs, integrations, databases, server-side logic, authentication, deployment and third-party services.
We are looking for an engineer who can move comfortably between design and technology, frontend and backend, creativity and engineering.
Someone who can take a Figma file, a creative direction or even an abstract idea and determine how it should become a working digital experience.
The ideal candidate is technically rigorous, visually sensitive, curious about emerging technology, and deeply committed to the quality of what they build.
Success means delivering digital experiences that are beautiful, technically sound, responsive, fast and finished, with strong ownership from brief to deployment and handover.
You should be equally comfortable discussing a design system, writing frontend architecture, building a Shopify section, debugging an API, improving Core Web Vitals or resolving a production issue.
Creative Frontend Engineering
- Translate Figma, creative direction and visual systems into precise, responsive interfaces.
- Build desktop, tablet and mobile experiences with strong attention to typography, spacing, imagery, hierarchy and interaction.
- Develop reusable, maintainable frontend components and complex visual layouts.
- Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS.
- Build refined interactions, transitions and motion using GSAP, ScrollTrigger, Framer Motion and CSS animation.
- Develop smooth scrolling, page transitions, parallax and scroll-based experiences.
- Experience with Three.js, WebGL or creative coding is advantageous.
- Build and customise Shopify 2.0 stores beyond standard templates.
- Work confidently with Liquid, custom themes, sections, templates, metafields, metaobjects, product/collection architecture and cart/commerce flows.
- Integrate Shopify APIs, Storefront API and third-party applications.
- Maintain scalable theme architecture, Git workflows and performance.
- Headless Shopify experience is advantageous.
- Develop frontend and backend systems, APIs and integrations.
- Work with Node.js, Express, REST, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Firebase and/or Supabase.
- Handle authentication, webhooks, databases, CMS, admin systems, deployment and troubleshooting.
- Understand how frontend, backend, APIs and infrastructure work together.
Build and maintain integrations across Shopify, payment gateways, CRM, marketing automation, Meta, Google, analytics, CMS and other third-party platforms.
- Build fast, efficient and scalable experiences.
- Work with Core Web Vitals, LCP, INP, CLS and Lighthouse.
- Optimise images, fonts, JavaScript bundles, lazy loading, code splitting, caching and animation performance.
- Ensure mobile performance remains a priority.
Test and optimise across iOS/Safari, Android/Chrome, desktop Safari/Chrome/Edge and tablets.
Mobile is not an afterthought; it is part of the experience from the beginning.
- Select appropriate technologies and architecture for each project.
- Maintain clean, reusable and documented code.
- Follow disciplined Git, branching, deployment and environment practices.
- Protect credentials, API keys and production systems.
- Prioritise appropriate architecture over unnecessary complexity.
Use tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT/Codex, Windsurf, v0, Lovable, Bolt.new and Replit where useful.
AI should accelerate development — not replace engineering judgement, QA or ownership.
Own testing across functionality, responsiveness, browsers, mobile, animations, commerce flows, integrations, performance and regression.
Identify and resolve issues before deployment, verify production builds and ensure every project reaches a genuinely finished state.
Own projects from brief → technical planning → development → QA → deployment → documentation → handover → post-launch support.
Establish realistic timelines, identify dependencies and risks, communicate blockers early and follow commitments through to closure.
Stay current with developments across frontend engineering, creative technology, Shopify, AI-assisted development, performance, interaction, WebGL/3D, headless commerce and emerging digital tools.
Work closely with Interface Architects, Brand Architects, Motion Architects, Editorial Architects, Growth, Operations, Creative Direction and Founders to translate creative intent into technically exceptional digital experiences.
- Professional experience building production-ready websites and digital products.
- Strong frontend engineering capability with working full-stack knowledge.
- Experience with Shopify and modern web development.
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser development.
- Experience with Git, APIs and deployment.
- Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving ability.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Genuine interest in digital design, technology and emerging tools.
