Overview
In this role you will build and own full-stack internal systems for iwoca’s German operations, enabling underwriting, customer communication and account management. You will work within the Operations Engineering team to automate workflows, modernise architecture, and raise engineering quality, directly impacting speed and reliability for frontline teams. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and scale systems as the business grows. This is a chance to shape operational tooling in a mission-driven fintech environment.

- Design and build full-stack services supporting core workflows (customer communication, underwriting, collections)
- Simplify workflows by automating non-value-added steps
- Evolve architecture to scale and improve system dependability
- Advocate for quality through code reviews and design sessions
- Lead end-to-end projects and develop commercial judgement within a growing team
- Backend design and development with Python
- Frontend work across React or TypeScript for end-to-end delivery
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Ability to anticipate technical challenges and improve complex workflows
- Track record delivering solutions from problem framing to deployment and iteration
- Strong communication to explain technical topics and influence decisions
- Familiarity with using AI tools to streamline boilerplate and research
