About Archer
A new regulatory change lands somewhere in the world every six minutes, and agentic AI is outpacing most teams' ability to govern it. At Archer, we help the enterprises powering the global economy turn that pressure into an advantage.
Mandates like the EU AI Act and the SEC cybersecurity disclosure rules are driving the most significant GRC buying cycle we have seen in years. That demand is why we are growing this team.
This is hard work that matters. Our customers span energy, utilities, financial services, pharmaceuticals, and the public institutions communities depend on. People choose Archer because they get to partner with the most trusted brands in the world, on work that protects the customers and communities those brands serve.
If that sounds like your kind of work, let's chat.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in React, Python, PostgreSQL, Elastic Search, and other AWS services to design, develop, and scale robust cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate will bring both technical depth and architectural discipline, contributing to the full product lifecycle — from requirements and design to deployment, documentation, and maintenance.
You will work closely with Product Management, UX, and QA teams in an agile environment to deliver secure, performant, and scalable solutions for an AI-driven LegalTech / RegTech platform.
What You'll Do
Application Development
- Design and implement end-to-end features using React (frontend) and Python (backend).
- Build, optimize, and maintain RESTful APIs for data exchange between services and front-end applications.
- Architect data models and write performant SQL queries in PostgreSQL.
- Architect and use highly indexed information in Elastic Search
- Integrate with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFormation, or ECS).
- Ensure adherence to best practices for scalability, maintainability, and security.
System Architecture & DevOps Collaboration
- Participate in designing distributed system architectures leveraging AWS-managed services.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Work with infrastructure teams to containerize and deploy applications using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Support monitoring and observability practices (CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar).
Code Quality, Testing & Documentation
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code that meets coding standards and security requirements.
- Implement and maintain unit, integration, and API-level tests.
- Participate in peer code reviews and help enforce code quality and design consistency.
- Maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specs, and deployment guides.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to deliver seamless, user-centric features.
- Work with QA teams to triage issues, optimize test coverage, and improve release reliability.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups using JIRA.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, backlog grooming, and process improvements.
You'll Thrive Here If You Have
- 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
- Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript (ES6+), and HTML/CSS.
- Solid backend development experience in Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django preferred).
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Proven experience deploying and managing applications on AWS (e.g., Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
- Proficiency with RESTful API design and integration.
- Experience using JIRA, Bitbucket or GitHub, and Visual Studio Code for development and collaboration.
- Familiarity with agile software development and CI/CD pipelines.
Even Better If You Have
- Experience with serverless architectures or microservices.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, JWT, Cognito).
- Background in LegalTech, RegTech, or AI-driven document or workflow systems.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (pytest, Jest, Cypress).
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ownership mindset with attention to detail and delivery quality.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Success Indicators
- Delivery of high-quality, well-tested code on schedule.
- Scalable and reliable deployments across environments.
- Effective collaboration with PM, UX, and QA teams.
