Our client is looking for an experienced Full-stack Engineer to join the team behind an innovative, AI-powered software quality and testing platform.
This is a hands‑on product engineering role where you’ll work across the full technology stack, from building responsive interfaces with React, Next.js and TypeScript to developing Node.js services, REST APIs, SQL integrations and cloud‑based workflows.
The role offers the opportunity to work on established products used to consolidate complex quality and testing data into clear, actionable dashboards. You’ll help maintain and enhance these products, resolve production issues and integrate third‑party tools without disrupting existing functionality.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Engineering & AI, Product Owner, AI specialists and QA professionals, contributing ideas and helping translate requirements into practical, well‑engineered solutions.
If you enjoy understanding how systems work, solving problems across the full stack and delivering reliable improvements in manageable increments, this could be a fantastic opportunity.
Purpose of the Role
As Full-stack Engineer, you’ll develop, maintain and enhance web-based products across the front end, back end and cloud environment.
Initially, your focus will be on understanding the existing products and architecture, resolving defects and delivering minor enhancements. As your product knowledge grows, you’ll take greater ownership of features and contribute to technical decisions and future product development.
You’ll be expected to write maintainable, testable code, support production systems and explain the thinking behind your technical approach.
Duties & Responsibilities
Full-stack Product Development
- Build and maintain features across the full stack using React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js.
- Develop responsive, user-focused interfaces using component-based design.
- Implement server‑side logic, services and RESTful APIs.
- Work with SQL databases and integrate third‑party platforms and data sources.
- Deliver improvements within an established product architecture and codebase.
- Write maintainable, reusable code that follows existing design patterns and engineering standards.
Product Support & Problem‑solving
- Investigate and resolve defects across front‑end, back‑end and database environments.
- Use application logs, production data and monitoring tools to diagnose complex issues.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend practical improvements.
- Respond to high‑priority production issues when required.
- Ensure enhancements do not negatively affect existing features or integrations.
Cloud, DevOps & Delivery
- Work with cloud‑based and serverless services, preferably within Microsoft Azure.
- Contribute to queue‑based services, workflows and cloud integrations.
- Work within established GitHub, code‑review and CI/CD processes.
- Support application monitoring, reliability and deployment activities.
- Deliver work incrementally through two‑week sprints and regular production releases.
Testing & Quality
- Build automated testing into the development process.
- Write unit and integration tests to support reliable, testable code.
- Work closely with QA and automation specialists throughout delivery.
- Participate in code reviews and support quality checks before deployment.
- Apply a proactive testing mindset rather than treating quality as a final‑stage activity.
- Use AI‑assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity and code quality.
- Validate AI‑generated output through independent reasoning, testing and review.
- Contribute to products and services that incorporate AI‑enabled functionality.
- Explore opportunities to work with LLMs, AI integrations, RAG and agentic workflows as the platform develops.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product and QA colleagues to understand requirements and define solutions.
- Ask the right questions when requirements are unclear or incomplete.
- Explain technical decisions and trade-offs clearly.
- Contribute ideas rather than simply following instructions.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
- Approximately 3–5+ years of commercial full-stack development experience.
- Strong commercial experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience developing server‑side logic and RESTful APIs.
- Solid experience working with SQL databases.
- Experience integrating third‑party APIs and external platforms.
- Evidence of independently delivering production features across the full stack.
- Strong understanding of maintainable code, object‑oriented principles, separation of concerns and design patterns.
- Experience with automated testing, unit testing and testable code.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, pull requests, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong debugging and technical problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within an existing product architecture and codebase.
- Comfortable working with changing requirements and delivering work incrementally.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain the reasoning behind technical decisions.
- Responsible and effective use of AI tools to support development activities.
Advantageous
- Commercial experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Functions.
- Experience with AWS or Google Cloud serverless technologies will also be considered.
- Experience with serverless architecture, queues and workflow‑based services.
- Exposure to application monitoring and production support.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or similar AI‑assisted development tools.
- Experience integrating AI or machine‑learning services.
- Knowledge of LLMs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation or agentic AI patterns.
- Experience with human‑in‑the‑loop workflows, sub‑agents or WebSockets.
- Experience working in a software quality, testing or automation environment.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join an innovative technology business developing products at the intersection of software engineering, quality assurance and artificial intelligence.
You’ll work closely with experienced engineering, AI and QA specialists, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle while contributing directly to products used in complex client environments.
Rather than being confined to one part of the stack, you’ll have the opportunity to understand how the entire product works, solve meaningful production problems and gradually take ownership of increasingly complex features.
If you’re a curious, quality‑focused Full‑stack Engineer who enjoys solving real problems, contributing ideas and building reliable products, we’d love to hear from you.
