Summary

Senior full-stack engineer at a defense/intelligence tech company building an agentic AI platform for real-time intelligence. Day to day: ship React/Postgres/Redis/S3 features end to end, work on-site with operators, and deploy into government IT environments. Requires an active US security clearance and 40-50% travel to DC and Tampa.

About the company

Our client supports people on the front lines by building tools that deter and de-escalate conflict with America’s adversaries. The company builds software and hardware that enable its customers to maintain maritime vigilance, disrupt misinformation, and collect non-traditional intelligence. In strategic competition, the intelligence and actions that shape conflict occur well before war itself, and the company builds tools to win that fight now.

This mission has become urgent: the US and its allies are fighting a war of deterrence with outdated technology. The team believes in public service, and that democracy and government improve only when people put serious, collective effort into improving them, including the technology the government uses.

The company has grown to support a wide range of missions and capabilities across all U.S. service branches, multiple combatant commands, partner nations, and the intelligence community. It has been profitable for several years and is backed by top-tier investors.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help expand the company’s agentic AI platform to new missions, datasets, and operating environments. This is a mix of product engineering and forward deployment: you’ll work directly with operators, then build and ship what they need into sensitive government environments.

You’ll join a new 2–3 person team under the Director of Product Engineering, working closely with the CEO. The team has fresh funding and is one of the company’s top priorities.

Why this role:

Impact at the edge: You won’t just write code; you’ll deploy it directly to the front lines, where it helps operators make life-saving decisions.

Real ownership: You’ll own the entire lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production deployment.

Speed of execution: The team moves fast. It once fielded a new product for 9,000+ users in just three months.

Mission-critical tech: You’ll work on an agentic AI platform that processes massive datasets to provide real-time intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Build full-stack features across React, Postgres, Redis, and S3.
  • Work with users on-site to turn mission needs into product requirements.
  • Deploy and integrate with government IT systems (data platforms, IdAM, SIEM, CDS).
  • Own features end to end, from requirements to production in the field.
  • Travel 40–50% to customer sites in DC and Tampa.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a full-stack or product engineer.
  • Experience building software for government or defense problems or customers.
  • Experience deploying software into customer environments.
  • Hands-on experience with government IT systems: data platforms, IdAM, SIEM, and cross-domain solutions.
  • Experience with relational databases (Postgres), caching technologies (Redis), object storage systems (S3), and modern front-end frameworks (React).
  • Strong communicator, comfortable working directly with customers.
  • Active U.S
  • security clearance (Top Secret/SCI preferred, Secret acceptable).
  • U.S person status (U.S citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
  • No visa sponsorship available.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to travel 40–50%.

Nice to have

  • DoD RMF experience.
  • Full-stack experience with a balanced front-end/back-end split, or front-end heavy.
  • Experience with LLM agents.

Benefits

  • $170K–$220K base salary
  • Competitive equity
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 100% remote first culture. You can work from anywhere in the US and all full time employees have WeWork access
  • Unlimited PTO including competitive vacation and holiday schedules
  • Lifestyle stipends - Monthly mental health, wellness & fitness stipend, in-home office setup stipend and family planning assistance
  • Salary top-up during military reserve duty
  • Fully paid parental leave
  • Child and pet care reimbursement during travel
