Summary
Full stack engineer on the CMS team building customer-facing applications for Leadership Connect's government/business/media information service — backend services in Kotlin/Java with Spring and modern frontend in React, Vite, and TypeScript, from API to interface. Remote role, but applicants must live and work in Quebec.
Core Functions of the Role

Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications that distribute high-value information to our customers.

Develop backend services and APIs using Kotlin/Java, Spring, and related technologies.

Build modern frontend experiences using React, Vite, and TypeScript.

Apply sound component architecture, state-management, asynchronous data-fetching, accessibility, and render-performance practices.
-
Work with relational and NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, and large datasets.
-
Participate throughout the Agile development lifecycle, including sprint planning, design sessions, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality client experiences.

Contribute to code reviews, technical design, engineering standards, and improvements to team practices.
About You
-
2+ years of professional software development experience for mid-level candidates or 6+ years for senior-level candidates.

Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals through a CS-related degree or equivalent professional experience.
-
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with experience building server-side applications using Spring or an equivalent framework.
-
Strong proficiency building React/Vite applications with TypeScript.
-
Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, query languages, and data best practices.
-
Knowledge of HTTP, REST, and API design and development.
-
Familiarity with state management and asynchronous data-fetching patterns such as TanStack Query.

Attention to frontend component architecture and render performance.
-
Working knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG/ARIA.
-
Experience with automated testing, including unit and integration/end-to-end testing.

Experience with Git or other source-control software.
AI-Augmented Software Development
- Use AI to understand unfamiliar codebases, research technologies, plan implementations, write and modify code, develop tests, debug problems, refactor systems, and automate repetitive work.
- Critically evaluate AI-generated solutions, recognize incorrect assumptions, validate implementations, and know when direct engineering investigation is the better approach.
- Experience with repository-level agent instructions, reusable agent workflows, MCP integrations, custom tooling, or agentic development processes is a plus.
