Build and maintain full-stack web apps using React/Next.js on the front end and Java/Python on the back end, while deploying and scaling them on AWS.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using React.js and Next.js on the front end, and Java and Python on the back end.
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
  • Contribute to architecture and design decisions across the front-end and back-end stack.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, or Cypress.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to support frequent, reliable releases.
  • Deploy, monitor, and optimise applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Participate fully in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA.
  • Use Git/GitHub for source control, code review, and collaborative development.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across the stack.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and code quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7 - 12 years of professional software engineering experience in a full-stack capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and Python.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React.js and Next.js.
  • Proven experience designing and building REST APIs.
  • Practical experience with Git/GitHub in a collaborative development environment.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, Cypress, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
  • Exposure to containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering capacity.
  • Experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
