Job Summary
Design and develop scalable AI-powered software systems for HDB, integrating modern AI technologies and cloud-native architectures. Collaborate with data scientists and multidisciplinary teams to operationalize machine learning and generative AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software systems supporting HDB's AI and data science solutions, including web applications, APIs, backend services, frontend, and deployment platforms
Build scalable AI applications by integrating large language models (LLMs), retrieval systems, vector databases, agent frameworks, and other AI technologies into robust software solutions
Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize machine learning and generative AI capabilities into software products
Engineer secure, reliable, and maintainable software using modern development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native architectures
Develop reusable frameworks, internal libraries, developer tools, and best practices to enhance HDB's AI engineering capabilities and accelerate AI solution delivery
Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve deployed AI systems to ensure optimal performance, scalability, security, and operational reliability
Evaluate emerging software engineering and AI technologies to recommend tools and frameworks that improve AI development capabilities
Required competencies and certifications
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline (from 'Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.')
Strong software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns, and clean coding practices
Proficiency in Python programming and experience with modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, or React
Experience building full-stack applications incorporating RESTful APIs, authentication, databases, and frontend integration
Experience developing cloud-native applications on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Familiarity with containerization and deployment technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of AI engineering concepts including LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, agentic workflows, and AI orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex business requirements into scalable software solutions
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams of software engineers, data scientists, business stakeholders, and IT partners
