Full Stack Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer with a strong backend focus for a client in the banking industry in the Netherlands. Focused on building and improving scalable, event-driven backend solutions within a modern cloud-native environment.

The role sits within a domain centred around deals and recycling, where you will work on high-impact, real-world use cases. You will join a mature engineering environment where ownership, technical depth, and architectural influence are key.

You will work closely with engineers and stakeholders across the organisation to design and deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend systems.

Your Job

In this role, you will be accountable for delivering clear outcomes:

• Designing and building scalable, event-driven backend services in a distributed environment
• Developing and maintaining AWS serverless solutions
• Working with Infrastructure as Code and supporting platform automation
• Contributing to architectural decisions and improving system design
• Collaborating across the stack where needed within an Agile team
• Ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability of backend services
• Delivering production‑grade features within an existing team setup
• Supporting continuous improvement of engineering practices and architecture

Your Profile

You have a strong technical background within backend or fullstack engineering, including:

• Senior‑level experience in backend or fullstack development with strong backend depth
• Strong experience with TypeScript in production environments
• Proven experience with AWS serverless architecture
• Deep knowledge of:
• AWS Lambda
• DynamoDB
• SNS & SQS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK is a plus)
• Strong understanding of event‑driven and distributed systems
• Experience working in complex, collaborative engineering environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Pragmatic mindset with focus on clean design and maintainability
