Full-Stack Java/Angular
We are looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Engineer to join a long-term transformation programme within a global financial-services environment.
About the Role
You will help modernise a critical accounting and data-processing platform, building scalable, resilient services supporting high-volume workflows, real-time and batch data ingestion, and enterprise integrations. This is a senior engineering role with genuine end-to-end ownership, from technical design and development through deployment, production support, and optimisation.
Responsibilities
- Build and modernise API-driven services, primarily in Java.
- Develop scalable solutions for real-time and batch data processing.
- Work with SQL/NoSQL databases and enterprise data platforms.
- Support the evolution of legacy capabilities into cloud-ready, API-first services.
- Design, test, deploy and operate production-grade applications in a cloud/hybrid environment.
- Improve observability, monitoring, resiliency, auditability and data quality.
- Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing and DevOps best practices.
- Lead technical discussions, code reviews and production-readiness activities.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, operations and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to strong engineering standards.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial software-engineering experience.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on Java and backend/API development experience.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices and production support.
- Good knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Cloud or hybrid-hosting experience, Azure is strongly preferred.
- CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing and modern engineering-toolchain experience.
- Ability to communicate architecture decisions, technical trade-offs and risks clearly.
- Experience working with international/distributed teams.
Preferred Skills
- Financial services, investment accounting, asset servicing, transaction-processing or data-platform experience.
- Oracle, Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, Python, TypeScript or Angular.
- Legacy-modernisation and cloud-transformation experience.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools or building AI-enabled solutions.
