Overview
In this role you will join Citi London’s technology team to build and operate trading tools for the Systematic & Credit Portfolio Trading desk. You will collaborate closely with traders, quants, and product developers to rapidly iterate revenue- and risk-focused tooling, helping shape the trading ecosystem at scale. The role offers hybrid work, mentorship, and opportunities to influence a new strategic trading desk. You’ll work on impact-driven projects that bridge technology and global markets.

- Define trade tooling business requirements directly with traders
- Collaborate with traders, quants and product development to build tools (portfolio optimization, P&L analysis, trading recommendations)
- Maintain an ecosystem for rapid application tooling with trader contributions
- Use Java and React to deliver high-quality software aligned with business pace
- Coordinate with production support to ensure stability and maintainability of critical trading functions
- Proven experience building applications and tools in Java or similar language
- Experience with containerized deployment (Kubernetes/OpenShift, Helm, Docker)
- Strong engineering fundamentals—managing complexity and ensuring stability
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Harness, etc.)
- Experience analyzing complex data sets and drawing evidence-based conclusions
- Experience using agentic coding agents to accelerate development while maintaining code quality
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Prior experience in Credit or capital markets is a plus
- Prior experience in Credit or other secondary trading businesses is a plus
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
