This isn't a graduate or entry-level role - we need someone who can hit the ground running across both front-end and back-end development from day one. What you'll be doing Designing, building, and maintaining Java and J2EE applications that support key business processes Working across the full stack on a variety of development projects Getting involved in solution design, technical discussions, peer reviews, and walkthroughs Supporting integrations, APIs, cloud platforms, and connected digital solutions Troubleshooting production issues and delivering solid, lasting fixes Writing clear documentation for handover and knowledge sharing Contributing to build, deployment, release, and continuous improvement practices Working closely with stakeholders to turn requirements into practical solutions What we're looking for Minimum 4 years' commercial experience in Java / J2EE development, front-end and back-end Strong knowledge of J2EE, RESTful Web Services, and frameworks such as Struts Solid understanding of unit, integration, system, and regression testing Confidence with Git, SVN, and Eclipse A practical, collaborative approach to problem-solving Genuine curiosity about modern development practices and new technology Nice to have: Docker or Kubernetes UNIX/Linux experience Build, configuration, and release management APIs and system integration experience Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Additional languages such as C++, Python, Perl, or JavaScript What's in it for you Alongside a competitive salary and pension, you'll get 24/7 GP access, retail and cinema discounts, career progression opportunities, mental health first aid support on-site, staff socials and wellbeing initiatives, free on-site parking (location dependent), and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
