Introduction

We are looking for a skilled Full Stack JavaScript Developer to join our team at our Cape Town office in Wembley Square. [On-site positions]

This is a hands-on development role for someone with a strong background across both backend and frontend development, ideally combined with experience working with telecommunications and VoIP systems.

You’ll work across the full technology stack, developing and maintaining applications, APIs and integrations that support our platforms and services. We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, is comfortable working with existing systems as well as building new functionality, and can quickly get up to speed with unfamiliar technologies.

Duties & Skills

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing and maintaining full-stack JavaScript applications
• Building and consuming REST APIs
• Developing backend services using Sails.js / Express.js
• Working with PostgreSQL databases and data models
• Developing and maintaining frontend applications using AngularJS
• Building real-time functionality using WebSockets
• Integrating applications with telecoms and VoIP platforms
• Working with Asterisk and FreePBX
• Website Development and Maintenance
• Troubleshooting application, database, Linux and telecoms issues
• Using Git and Docker as part of the development and deployment workflow
• Working collaboratively with our wider technical and product teams

Core Technical Skills

We're looking for solid practical experience with:

• JavaScript
• Git
• Docker
• REST APIs
• SQL
• Linux
• WebSockets

Backend

• Sails.js, or strong Express.js experience if you have not previously worked with Sails.js
• PostgreSQL
• Designing, building and consuming REST APIs
• PostgreSQL JSON / JSONB experience would be a plus
• GraphQL experience would be a plus

Frontend

• AngularJS (pre-2.0 / AngularJS 1.x)
• Angular Material Design
• SCSS

Telecoms / VoIP

Telecommunications experience is an important part of this role. Ideally, you will have practical experience with some or all of:

• Asterisk
• FreePBX
• PHP
• MySQL
• VoIP / telephony systems and integrations

Desired Experience & Qualification

10 years of experience in this role.

Package & Remuneration

Salary: R 50,000-R 55,000 per month
