About the Role

Dryads is seeking a capable Full-Stack Mobile Developer to build, improve and maintain the Dryads applications across iOS, Android and web.

This is a hands-on development role. The successful candidate will work directly within the existing React, Capacitor, Firebase and cloud-services environment to improve stability, deliver features and strengthen the mobile experience.

You will contribute to technical decisions, but this is not a department-head or executive architecture position. The role is focused on execution, problem-solving and reliable delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Mobile and Full-Stack Development
• Build and improve features across the Dryads mobile and web applications
• Maintain reusable and understandable code
• Work within the existing architecture and development patterns
• Identify technical debt and recommend practical improvements
• Refactor components where there is a clear performance, stability or maintenance benefit
• Support frontend, backend and native integration work as required
• AI and API Integration
• Integrate and improve AI chat, image-recognition and analysis features
• Handle API responses, errors, timeouts and fallback states
• Improve caching and perceived response speed
• Support AI usage limits and subscription entitlements
• Help control API and infrastructure costs
• Test AI workflows across mobile and web environments
• Mapping and Geospatial Systems
• Improve Mapbox rendering and mobile map performance
• Support waypoints, layers, routes, overlays and map tools
• Improve low-signal and offline map behaviour
• Test location permissions, GPS behaviour and mobile navigation
• Help maintain reliable mapping on different devices and screen sizes
• Subscription and Monetization Systems
• Maintain and improve subscription gating
• Support Stripe, RevenueCat and app-store entitlement flows
• Improve upgrade, renewal and trial-expiration experiences
• Test subscription access across web, iOS and Android
• Help ensure paid features are available only to the correct users
• Performance and Reliability
• Investigate crashes, freezes and performance issues
• Improve memory, battery and network efficiency
• Test behaviour in poor-connectivity environments
• Support monitoring and error reporting
• Resolve production issues quickly
• Participate in release testing and deployment
• Product Development
• Build roadmap features across the Dryads ecosystem
• Support MyStay, Vault, white-label and enterprise modules
• Work with UI/UX contractors to implement approved designs
• Provide practical technical feedback before development begins
• Document important systems and implementation decisions

Required Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• Capacitor and native plugin integration
• Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Storage and Cloud Functions
• Mapbox or other geospatial systems
• Offline-first applications
• OpenAI or other AI API integrations
• Stripe, RevenueCat or mobile subscriptions
• Push notifications
• Camera, Bluetooth, GPS or device integrations
• Outdoor, field-service or location-based applications
• Experience working in a small, fast-moving company
