We're looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to join our growing technology team in Napier.

This is an exciting opportunity for a developer who enjoys working across the entire technology stack, from database design and backend services through to modern user interfaces and infrastructure. You'll play a key role in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining business-critical applications while helping shape the future of our technology environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Full Stack Software Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications from database through to user interface

• Build clean, scalable, and maintainable software solutions

• Develop and optimise SQL-based data structures and queries

• Design, build, and support services running on Node.js

• Contribute to React-based front-end applications and user experiences

• Containerise and deploy applications using Docker

• Develop integrations and messaging solutions using RabbitMQ

• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

• Assist with the management of cloud and on-premise infrastructure

• Configure and maintain Cloudflare and Nginx environments

• Support Windows and Ubuntu server environments

• Participate in code reviews and collaborative development using Git

• Work closely with stakeholders to deliver practical and innovative technology solutions

What You'll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with JavaScript

• Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases

• Proven experience developing with Node.js

• Experience building front-end applications with React or similar frameworks

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

• Docker and containerised application deployment

• RabbitMQ or other messaging platforms

• Jenkins or similar CI/CD tooling

• Vultr, Azure, or other cloud platforms

• Cloudflare and Nginx administration

• Windows and Ubuntu server management

• Git version control and collaborative development workflows

• API and web services development and integration

• Infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
