Full Stack Software Engineer Affiliate Technologies

About Schibsted Marketing Services

Schibsted Marketing Services is Schibsted´s advertising organization, representing some of the strongest news brands in Norway and Sweden - like VG, Aftonbladet, Aftenposten and SvD.

Advertising plays a central role in funding independent news media, and affiliate marketing is a growing component of our advertising revenue. We are currently increasing our focus on affiliate marketing and other performance marketing, and are looking for a fullstack engineer to work on affiliate data collection and tooling.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer on Affiliate Technologies your task is to build internal systems and infrastructure that fuels data collection and automate processes. This is a hands-on development role: you will focus on internal tooling, integrations, and infrastructure that support our affiliate team and other advertising teams. In this role you will have the opportunity to independently design, develop and deploy tooling that has a direct revenue impact for the free press. Affiliate is a cross brand initiative in Schibsted, used for monetizing most of our brands across Norway and Sweden.

You will work within Ads Data capabilities and work closely with the affiliate team and with other data teams in Schibsted. The Ads Data Capabilities delivers targeting and reporting capabilities, a necessity for Schibsted to succeed in the advertising market. Among our products are data cleanrooms, matched audiences infrastructure, reach estimation models, as well as general ad impression level data reporting and data products.

In this role, you will

  • Develop data collection tools and process tooling for the affiliate business model

  • Develop a solution for managing and distributing commercial offers (“Tilbud”)

  • Collaborate with our data teams to ensure affiliate distribution gets powered by the data available within Schibsted

  • Collaborate with our data teams to ensure all advertising can be powered with data generated by affiliate initiatives

About our affiliate tooling

Linkfusion is a click tracking tool that enables Schibsted to manage affiliate tracking link clicks, and it also orchestrates multiple data pipelines tying this data to revenue data from tens of different partners Schibsted works with. Built on a solid foundation it has the option to become a core component in Schibsted Marketing Services effort to collect AI ready data from our affiliate business.

Tilbudstudio is our solution for delivering commercial offers to our users, both during fast paced commercial events such as Black Week, but also for highlighting good offers on a daily basis. Our setup needs a complete revamp, and deciding how to rebuild will be part of this role's responsibility. This is an opportunity to assemble a purpose built content management stack both to support the backend process affiliate content, but also to deliver the consumer phasing front end while working seamlessly with the existing infrastructure of Norway's most visited news sites. AI supported workflows to create new offers is also high on the priority list.
