Summary
Builds internal systems, automations and integrations for business teams (Finance, Operations, Marketing) using Claude Code as the primary development environment. Full-stack work across Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Next.js and PostgreSQL, integrating APIs with accounting, POS, CRM and Microsoft 365 platforms, plus reporting and reconciliations.
Minimum Requirements
Hands-on Claude Code experience is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate practical projects or systems they have built using Claude Code.
A practical technical exercise will form part of the interview process.
- 5+ years' experience as a Software Engineer, ideally with automation, integrations or business systems experience.
- Minimum 6 months' proven daily hands-on experience with Claude Code.
- Must be able to demonstrate real projects built using Claude Code through a portfolio, repository or practical examples.
- Strong Python development skills.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks and JSON.
- Full-stack development experience including:
- Relational databases and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL
- Back-end API development
- Modern front-end development such as React/Next.js
- Git and CI/CD
- Production deployments
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to develop and validate reliable workbooks.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including testing, debugging, code review and maintainable coding practices.
- Familiarity with the Claude API, including tool use, Batch API and prompt caching.
- Ability to understand when AI is appropriate and when a conventional script, Power Automate flow or system configuration is the better solution.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
- Able to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Comfortable running meetings and producing clear written scopes.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with financial data and reconciliations.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good documentation and handover skills.
- Comfortable taking ownership of systems from development through to ongoing support.

- Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions, scopes and deliverables.
- Develop back-end APIs, front-end applications, databases and system integrations.
- Build automations, scripts and internal tools using Claude Code as the primary development environment.
- Develop and maintain CLAUDE.md files, custom skills, slash commands, hooks and subagents.
- Build and configure MCP servers and connectors to business systems and applications.
- Integrate with APIs, accounting systems, POS, CRM, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and other platforms.
- Develop reporting, reconciliations and automated business processes.
- Test, deploy, monitor and support systems in a live environment.
- Troubleshoot system issues, integration failures and data discrepancies.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and change logs.
- Assist users and teams in making effective use of Claude and AI development tools.
- Manage API keys, permissions and data access responsibly.
