Full Stack Software Engineer

Summary

Builds and maintains React/TypeScript frontends and Node.js backends for AI/simulation systems, owning full feature lifecycles from requirements to support, while collaborating with UX designers and ensuring quality through testing and code reviews.

You will build and maintain React and TypeScript interfaces, develop Node.js backend services that integrate with AI inference and simulation systems, own features from requirements through support, plan and estimate sprint work, collaborate with UX designers, and maintain quality through testing and code review.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications with React and TypeScript
  • Build and extend Node.js backend services
  • Own features end to end from requirements through delivery and support
  • Plan and execute development sprints
  • Provide estimates for your work
  • Collaborate with UX designers on interfaces for complex data
  • Maintain quality through automated and manual testing and code review

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Professional experience building web applications with React and TypeScript
  • Working proficiency in Node.js
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Vetted status to at least SC level
  • Willingness to attend the Shoreditch office at least once a week
  • Experience with Vite
  • Experience with API design, data modelling, or backend integration patterns
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues, or real-time data systems
  • Experience with component and styling libraries such as MUI or Tailwind
  • Experience with state management libraries such as Zustand or Immer
  • Experience integrating with or building around AI services or simulation platforms
  • Evidence of advocating for best practices or improving a team
  • Interest or familiarity with the defence sector, military modelling and simulation, or command and control systems
  • Interest in travelling to support customer deployments, hackathons, and industry events
