🏢 About the company
We are searching for Full Stack Software Engineers for an early-stage startup building clinical AI software for the European healthcare market, focused on women's health.
The product has the ambition to grow into a broader women's health journey, and will be certified as a medical device under MDR.
The company is led by a CEO with a medical background, has secured significant seed funding, and already has a small structured team across product, design and engineering. This hire will be among the first engineers on the team, working directly with the founders.
Being early-stage, several core technology decisions are still being made together with the team as it grows: some have already been settled, others are actively being shaped, and this hire will have a real say in them.

What you'll do

• Design, build and ship features end to end: backend services, APIs and user-facing interfaces

• Work across the stack with full availability to contribute to mobile development as the product's mobile technology choices are finalized

• Integrate AI components (LLMs, agents, pipelines) into a real product, with real constraints on correctness, latency and traceability

• Use agentic coding tools as part of the daily workflow, with the judgment to know when to trust them and when not to

• Contribute directly to architecture and product decisions: in a small team, your voice counts from day one

• Help define the processes and practices the team still needs to build, in a startup at seeding stage
  

Technical requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Genuine willingness to work full-stack, including mobile development, with real curiosity to pick up new languages, tools and technologies quickly

• Solid habits around automated testing, code review and CI/CD, treated as a practice rather than a checkbox

• Interest in, or hands-on experience with, the professional use of agentic coding tools

• Autonomy and proactivity: at this early stage not everything is defined yet, and this role plays an active part in shaping the processes and practices the team needs

• Willingness to work in a regulated space: building health software comes with regulatory and compliance requirements, and handling them well is part of the job

• Strong written and spoken communication in English, the team's working language (Italian is a plus, not a requirement)
  

Nice to have

• Knowledge of and experience with Rust

• Experience with AWS

• Hands-on experience integrating and managing LLMs in a product, making their output reliable and measurable

• Experience developing medical device software under MDR certification
