Salary: $80 – $100 per hour

3-month contract | Full time | Fully remote (NZ based) | Immediate start | Possible extension

The role

We're looking for an experienced full-stack web developer to rebuild a website for one of our clients. You'll work directly with our client to deliver a modern site that integrates with a CMS and connects with the client's internally built applications.

This is an AI-first role. You'll use Claude and other AI tools to speed up development, and you'll build some genuinely interesting and powerful AI integrations into the site.

You'll also design a workflow that lets the business owner make their own changes to the website using AI tools. You'll stay in control of quality, reviewing and understanding every change before it goes live.

We'll give you a brief and introduce you to the client. From there, you'll own the project: managing your own work, meetings and deadlines, and taking it through to completion.

What you'll be doing

- Rebuilding the client's website from the ground up

- Integrating the site with a CMS and existing internal applications

- Designing and building AI-powered features and integrations

- Using AI tools such as Claude to accelerate development, while reviewing and testing everything that goes live

- Designing a safe workflow so the business owner can iterate on the site with AI tools, with changes going through your review and testing before they're deployed

- Managing code through Git and GitHub, including branching, pull requests and a staging environment

- Working closely with the business owner through regular Teams meetings

- Managing your own schedule, priorities and deadlines, and keeping the client and us updated on progress

- Tracking your time accurately and providing an itemised record of the work completed

What you'll bring

- Proven experience as a full-stack web developer, with live websites or applications you can show us

- Strong experience with agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code, and the judgement to check, fix and improve what they produce

- Solid experience with Git, including branching, pull requests and code review, using GitHub or a similar platform

- Experience setting up deployment workflows, such as staging environments and controlled releases

- Experience with CMS platforms and integrating with APIs and other systems

- Experience building AI integrations, or a strong interest in doing so

- The ability to manage a project independently from brief to completion

- Disciplined, accurate time tracking and clear records of work

- Clear, confident communication with business owners and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

- Based in New Zealand with the right to work here

- Available to start immediately

- Available full time during NZ business hours, 9am to 5pm

- Willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement

- Able to provide a clean criminal record check

The details

- Initial 3-month full-time contract

- Fully remote

- Immediate start

- Possibility of further work after the initial contract

- Paid trial before the full contract begins, so we can both make sure it's the right fit
