Full Stack Web Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Full Stack Web Engineer based in Brazil.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building production-ready features for enterprise-level WordPress platforms and large-scale digital experiences.
You’ll work across the web stack, translating requirements and designs into polished, responsive functionality from frontend to backend.
The role combines modern PHP, JavaScript, React.js, Gutenberg, HTML, CSS, themes, and plugins within demanding client environments.
You’ll own tickets from requirements through implementation, testing, code review, and release, making sound technical decisions along the way.
AI-assisted development is encouraged as a productivity tool, with a strong emphasis on understanding, validating, and maintaining the quality of every line of code.
You’ll collaborate asynchronously and in real time with distributed engineering, design, and delivery teams while receiving guidance from experienced technical leads.
The position is fully remote across Latin America and offers the opportunity to contribute to high-traffic digital products for globally recognized brands.

• Build features for enterprise WordPress solutions, including custom Gutenberg blocks with React.js, plugins, and themes using modern HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.

• Take ownership of development tickets from requirements through implementation, testing, pull request creation, review, and release.

• Translate Figma designs and project requirements into polished, responsive user experiences and reusable components.

• Make sound technical decisions when requirements are incomplete, clearly documenting assumptions, trade-offs, implementation approaches, and testing.

• Use AI development tools to accelerate coding and debugging while critically reviewing and validating all generated output.

• Create clean, maintainable, production-ready code that meets established engineering and client quality standards.

• Respond constructively to code review feedback from senior and lead engineers, applying best practices and continuously improving technical skills.

• Collaborate proactively with distributed engineering, design, and delivery teams through clear written and verbal communication in English.

• Contribute to enterprise projects where reliability, performance, maintainability, and attention to detail are essential.

• Build technical expertise through exposure to complex WordPress implementations and large-scale digital experiences.

Requirements

• Professional experience in an agency, consultancy, or similar environment developing WordPress solutions for enterprise or large-scale projects.

• Strong full-stack web development skills across HTML, CSS, modern PHP, JavaScript, and WordPress.

• Hands-on experience with the Gutenberg ecosystem, including developing custom blocks with React.js.

• Experience building and maintaining WordPress themes and plugins.

• Ability to independently interpret written requirements, identify gaps, make reasonable technical decisions, and deliver complete features.

• Strong understanding of software development fundamentals and a commitment to writing code that is clean, maintainable, and fully understood before deployment.

• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, with the judgment to validate their output and recognize when generated solutions are incorrect or unsuitable.

• Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to clearly explain technical decisions, assumptions, and trade-offs.

• Comfortable receiving and incorporating detailed code review feedback from senior engineers.

• Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a distributed environment and collaborate with teams operating in US time zones.

• Familiarity with open-source WordPress tools such as ElasticPress or ClassifAI is a plus.

• Experience working on high-traffic websites, demanding client projects, or other enterprise digital products is highly valuable.
