Full-Time Commercial Operations Driver:
Olathe Ford Commercial is seeking a reliable, safety-minded Full-Time Operations Driver to support our commercial vehicle operations. This is a hands-on position that plays a key role in vehicle deliveries, lot organization, and operational support for Olathe Ford Commercial. Successful candidates will be comfortable working both behind the wheel and outdoors, assisting with a variety of tasks that help keep our operations running efficiently.
This is not a sit-behind-the-wheel-only driving position. Candidates should expect to be actively involved in daily operations, including vehicle movement, lot organization, and other hands-on duties that support the team.
- Safely operate company vehicles to support commercial vehicle deliveries and transfers.
- Follow drivers delivering transit vans, work vans, and other commercial vehicles to customer locations, upfitters, body companies, and other destinations.
- Transport delivery drivers back to Olathe Ford Commercial after vehicle drop-offs.
- Assist with vehicle transfers between dealership locations and customer sites.
- Move, stage, park, and organize vehicles throughout dealership, commercial, and body shop lots.
- Assist with maintaining an orderly vehicle inventory and ensuring vehicles are positioned according to operational needs.
- Perform basic vehicle walk-around inspections before and after transport.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle condition as required.
- Assist with vehicle pickup and delivery preparation, including checking fuel levels, cleanliness, and overall readiness for transport.
- Support Commercial and Body Shop operations with miscellaneous tasks, lot maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and remain physically active throughout the workday.
- Represent Olathe Ford Commercial professionally and courteously when interacting with customers and business partners.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Use navigation tools and communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding schedules and route updates.
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to drive a wide variety of vehicle makes and models
- Ability and willingness to perform physical work in addition to driving duties.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb in and out of vehicles, and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Ability to travel for day trips and occasional longer routes
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check
- CDL is NOT required
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with dealership staff and customers when needed
