Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to deliver exceptional patient care aligned with facility policies and standards.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheterizations following strict protocols and safety guidelines.
- Oversee documentation of medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage complex clinical situations including acute pain management, infectious disease care, dementia care, hospice services, and emergency response procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and treatment adjustments for patients with diverse needs such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Provide mentorship and training to nursing staff on best practices in medical documentation, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), sterile techniques, and new clinical procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in long term skilled care setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Skilled in using EMR/EHR systems like Point Click Care
- Expertise in administering injections, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including those requiring Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or behavioral health support.
- Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments for patients across age groups including neonatal ventilator management or toddler care when necessary.
