Full Time Nanny/House Manager – McLean, VA
A family in McLean, VA 22101 is seeking an engaging, organized, and experienced full-time nanny and house manager to care for their three young children (ages 4, 2, and 12 weeks). The ideal caregiver will provide attentive, loving childcare while also assisting with light household management during the hours the older children are in school.
Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Weekly Hours Guaranteed: 40 hours per week
Family Specifications:
- Smoke-free home
- The older two children (4 and 2) are in preschool for 20 hours a week
- Values a caregiver who communicates openly and partners with parents to support routines, schedules, and developmental needs.
- Focuses on minimal screen time and active, engaging indoor/outdoor activities.
Responsibilities:
Primary Childcare:
- Provide attentive, safe supervision and engaged, age-appropriate care for three children.
- Develop and participate in fun, developmental activities inside and outside the home.
- Support daily routines including nap schedules, potty training, diaper changes, and clothing changes.
- Prepare age-appropriate meals and snacks for the children and clean up afterward.
- Actively supervise children in and around the pool, including entering the water with them.
- Administer medications as directed by parents.
- Maintain open, prompt communication with parents regarding children's well-being, shift in needs, or concerns.
Household Management (Secondary to Childcare):
- Manage children’s laundry (washing, drying, folding, putting away).
- Keep play areas, children’s bedrooms, and diapering stations clean, organized, and stocked.
- Load/unload dishwasher and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
- Prep children's meals and assist with family dinner preparation in the afternoon.
- Handle family errands, grocery shopping, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Provide transportation to/from preschool, appointments, and outings (family vehicle provided).
Requirements:
- Proven experience caring for infants, toddlers, and young children.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Current CPR and Pediatric First Aid certifications.
- A competent swimmer, comfortable actively supervising and entering the pool with the children.
Compensation:
- $23–$30 per hour (depending on experience).
- Vehicle provided for transportation of children and work-related errands.
