Derrycourt would like to appoint an Regional Manager. They key responsibilities as outlined below are some of the criteria that is an essential part of the role. You will be reporting to the Contracts Manager.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Resolve escalated issues that may occur on site and ensure Contracts Manager is aware.
  • Responsible for the delivery of customer contracts and SLA’s (Service Level Agreement) for your designated region.
  • Contract Management to be achieved via team of Area Managers who will be your direct reports.
  • Support and guide Area Managers within your region to resolve issues.
  • Attend client meetings with Area Managers and train managers to proactively resolve client requests, issues etc., ensuring all meetings have agendas, minutes and action plans to ensure all requests are completed
  • Promote the use of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to manage client contracts and build good client relationships. Train Area Managers in use of KPIs and monitor roll out of same.
  • Ensure SLAs are being achieved and exceeded upon if possible.
  • Continuously review work methods and procedures in order to maximise efficiencies.
  • To ensure satisfactory performance and further development of the contract.
  • To quote for potential new contracts and initial cleans within designated regions using the template quoting tool, the dashboard on Salesforce will measure the outcome of the quotes.
  • Build relationships with clients and ensure they are aware of you and your position and that they can escalate issues to you.

Leadership:

  • Ensure compliance with all employment and health & safety legislation and accurate record keeping is maintained for each site
  • Conduct monthly reviews using the standard template with all Area Managers to ensure compliance is being adhered to in terms of rest periods, time and attendance, manual handling training records, risk assessments, method statements etc.
  • Ensure Area Manager actions any non-compliance in line with company policy.
  • Approval of Area Manager annual leave requests for your region in addition to paying cognisance to leave already approved by other Regional Managers. Final approval for Area Manager and Regional Manager leave remains with the Contracts Manager.
  • With the support of HR, train and empower Area Managers to handle all employee disciplinary and grievances at a local level in accordance with company policy and communicate regularly with the Head Office HR Department.
  • Allocate new sites to Area Managers accordingly ensuring that the relevant Area Manager has the competency and skill set to manage that specific site, taking into consideration the geographical location.
  • Ensure all probation management and performance management tools are used to assist with maximising individual’s performance.
  • Train, coach and mentor Area Managers for the next position ensuring that Area Managers do the same with their teams.
  • Promote team work and motivation within the Area Management Team.
  • To be innovative – developing and implementing new ideas contributing to company success.
  • To focus on management level tasks and to ensure effective delegation of tasks to subordinates to ensure that the most appropriate person deals with any given issue.
  • Responsible for maximising the profit opportunities of all contracts
  • Review the monthly financial report as issued by Finance and action any items required.
  • Proactively assist in management of budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure.
  • Oversee mobilisation and implementation of new contracts, systems and processes within your region

Communication:

  • Report to Contracts Manager – immediately highlighting any complaints/issues
  • Empower Area Managers to communicate with all Head Office departments ultimately ensuring that all services are charged for correctly and employees are paid correctly.
  • Maintain excellent communication with your team, and ensure adequate systems are in place to enable this, have a monthly calendar to meet with your Area Managers on an individual and team basis
  • Use Salesforce to record all your work activities including site visits, schedule all client meetings via Microsoft Outlook, updates on meetings etc.
  • Ensure Area Managers within your region use Salesforce to maintain site information, record site visits and any and all other information as required.
  • Regional Managers to accompany Area Managers on their site visits, these can be arranged or an unannounced visits
  • Work with Heads of Departments and Area Managers to develop the annual strategy for the region and set objectives for each Area Manager.
  • Preparation and submission of reports as requested by the Contracts Manager.
  • To perform any other reasonable requests as instructed by your manager.

Team Work & Motivation:

  • To develop a suitable trained and responsible team.
  • To develop a productive workforce that is customer focused.

Health & Safety:

  • Maximise Health & Safety in all aspects of the work environment to reduce/eliminate accidents.
  • Action any issues that arises on a day-to-day basis.
  • Report any issues to the client and Health & Safety Manager as necessary.
  • Ensure accident/incident investigations and report forms are completed as per policy.

People Management:

  • To ensure compliance with all legislation i.e. working time act – rest periods, max working hours etc., equality legislation, grievance and disciplinary procedure.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained including time and attendance, time sheets, site minutes etc.
  • Approve Payroll for employees at your location
  • To handle all staff disciplinary and grievances at a local level in accordance with company policy and communicate regularly with the Head Office HR Department.
