As a Full-Time Overnight Counselor, you serve as a steady, supportive presence for women working toward safety, stability, recovery, and independence. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, structured, and respectful overnight environment where residents can continue their progress.

This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, observant, and committed to supporting women in a residential treatment setting. You will work alongside a collaborative, trauma-informed team dedicated to empowerment, accountability, and dignity.


What You Will Do

Responsibilities focus on overnight supervision, safety, program support, and team coordination.

Residential Supervision & Safety
• Provide direct supervision and support to residents during overnight shifts.
• Conduct and document hourly safety and quality assurance checks.
• Ensure the physical safety of all residents while maintaining a calm and structured environment.
• Enforce program rules consistently using a respectful, trauma-informed approach.
• Respond to crises using approved intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Observe and document resident medication self-administration and verify counts in accordance with policy.
• Provide first aid and seek emergency medical care when necessary.

Facility & Security Responsibilities
• Maintain building security by locking doors/windows, activating alarms, and monitoring the facility.
• Respond to emergencies and contact appropriate services (police, fire, medical) as needed.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the Program Manager.
• Represent the organization professionally to neighbors, visitors, and community partners.

Team Collaboration & Communication
• Maintain clear communication through log notes and shift reports.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Attend meetings with the Program Manager as requested.
• Model expectations and assist in training new overnight staff.

Program & Resident Support
• Supervise residents in daily and weekly house responsibilities.
• Assist with resident orientation, including house rules, safety procedures, and program expectations.
• Support new residents in adjusting to the program structure and expectations.
• Assist with preparation of rooms, clothing, and materials for new residents.
• Support SUD-related monitoring, including urinalysis and breathalyzer screenings as directed.
• If infants are present, follow the Baby Care Manual and support mothers as appropriate.

Administrative & General Duties
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Prepare and maintain resident files, including opening and closing records.
• Support administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and documentation setup.
• Work scheduled shifts as assigned and support coverage needs when possible.
