Fullstack Engineer
Summary
Builds and maintains a fintech platform for B2B customers, focusing on scalable, secure full-stack development with React/TypeScript (frontend) and Node/TypeScript (backend), while improving CI/CD and team workflows.
We're hiring two full-stack engineers for a fintech platform that other businesses run on rather than consumers. Their customers' customers use it every day. It's live at scale, well backed, and growing beyond Australia.
Small team. You'd move between building the core product and adapting it for the businesses running on it, usually with more than one thing on the go. There's no wall between the two, and no platform team to hand things off to.
What you'll do
- Build new features with scalability and security in mind
- Own the quality of what you ship, including the tests
- Improve the CI/CD pipelines and the way the team works
- Share what you know and review each other's code
What you need
- 5+ years building software, mostly in small startups or product companies
- React and TypeScript on the front end, Node and TypeScript on the back
- Strong on REST APIs and distributed systems
- Real automated testing depth: unit, integration and end to end
- AWS or equivalent
How you work
This counts as much as the stack:
- You're fine when the requirements move
- You spot the thing that needs doing and pick it up without being asked
- You make sensible calls between technical complexity and what the customer actually needs
What's on offer
Equity, a genuinely flexible hybrid model, a team that challenges each other, budget for learning, and a place that's serious about people switching off. Salary competitive, discussed on application.
Who it isn't for
If you want a big platform team, clear guardrails and someone else owning the priorities, this one isn't it.
Australian working rights and Melbourne-based required.
