Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot backend services, including workflow engine, institution enrolment, messaging and durable outbox using PostgreSQL.
• Build React-based applications and screens for shared tablets and low-end mobile devices.
• Optimise application performance for 3G and low-bandwidth networks, ensuring text loads before audio and applications handle degraded connectivity.
• Implement shared-device safety, including session cleanup, secure back-button behaviour and automatic timeouts.
• Develop multilingual React applications in Telugu, Hindi and English, meeting WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
• Develop and maintain APIs, workflow bindings, service definitions and PostgreSQL schemas.
• Collaborate with another Full Stack Engineer on frontend development.
• Use AI coding agents for scaffolding, migrations, refactoring, testing and documentation.
• Review AI-generated code and ensure quality, reliability and maintainability.
• Provide code review support and act as the backup lead in the Technical Lead's absence.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 4+ years of experience in back-end-heavy full-stack software development.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and durable event-handling patterns such as the Outbox Pattern.
• Working knowledge of React.js and frontend development.
• Experience building and reviewing backend services, APIs and web applications.
• Understanding of application performance optimisation for low-end devices and slow networks.
• Knowledge of internationalisation and accessibility standards.
• Practical experience using AI coding agents in software development.
• Strong problem-solving, code review and debugging skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and communicate technical decisions clearly.

Additional Advantage: Experience with Android kiosks, managed browsers, complex scripts, Telugu or Hindi.
