Functional Safety Test Engineer – ADAS
Summary
VinFast is hiring a Functional Safety Test Engineer in Hanoi to plan, develop, and execute software verification and validation for safety-critical ADAS and autonomous driving systems on electric vehicles, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262. Day-to-day work covers fault injection, HIL, unit/integration testing, and tools like CANoe, Lauterbach, Tessy, and Polarion.

As part of VinFast’s software and vehicle engineering organization, you will contribute to the development and verification of safety-critical software for advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving systems deployed on next-generation electric vehicles.
We are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Test Engineer to plan, develop, execute, and manage software verification and validation activities for safety-related ADAS and Autonomous Driving systems. The successful candidate will work closely with Functional Safety, Software, System, Hardware, ADAS, Perception, Integration, and Vehicle Testing teams to ensure software safety requirements and safety mechanisms are thoroughly verified in accordance with ISO 26262 and applicable automotive development processes.
Key Responsibilities
ISO 26262 Software Verification Activities
- Plan and execute
software verification activities according to ISO 26262 Part 6.
- Develop Software
Verification Plans and Test Strategies.
- Ensure compliance with
ASIL A/B/C/D verification requirements.
- Support Functional
Safety Assessments and Safety Audits.
- Software Safety Requirement Verification
- Prepare functional
safety Test strategy
- Software Architecture Verification
- Software Unit Testing
- Software Integration Testing
- Embedded Software Testing
- Safety Mechanism Testing
- Traceability
Management (Polarion , DOORS , Codebeamer)
- Test Reporting and Compliance
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s
degree in:
- Computer
Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Embedded Systems or Automotive
Engineering
Experience
- 10+ years of functional
safety software testing experience.
- Experience in ISO
26262-compliant development projects.
- Experience in Testing
with ADAS, Autonomous Driving, radar, camera, or perception systems is
highly preferred.
Requirements
Technical Skills
Mandatory:
- Fault injection testing, Embedded C/C++, Automotive software
testing, Software integration testing
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, Requirement-based
testing, Debugging tools, Static analysis tools, Defect tracking tools
- Experience with ADAS Level 2/Level 2+ systems.
- Experience with TI TDA4 or Sitara or Qualcomm, Infineon
TC3xx platforms.
- Experience testing ISO 26262 part 4 and Part 6.
- Knowledge of Automotive SPICE SWE.4, SWE.5, and SWE.6
processes.
Test Tools
Experience with:
- Vector CANoe or
CANalyzer
- VT System, Lauterbach,
Jenkins
- Git, Polyspace, Coverity
- LDRA, Tessy, Parasoft,
MATLAB/Simulink (preferred)
