Fundraising Manager – Community, Grassroots, and Members of Public
NewBe an early applicantWe are looking for a passionate and results driven Fundraising Manager, Community and Public Fundraising to grow sustainable income and build a strong base of public supporters.
You will lead our community and public fundraising portfolio, covering community partnerships, public appeals, individual giving, regular giving, digital fundraising and supporter acquisition. You will create campaigns that inspire people to support our mission and turn community participation into long term financial support.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement the community and public fundraising strategy and achieve agreed income, acquisition and retention targets.
Lead public fundraising campaigns across community, individual giving, regular giving, digital, crowdfunding and peer to peer channels.
Build and manage relationships with community groups, schools, businesses, grassroots networks, volunteers and other partners to expand fundraising reach.
Develop and mobilise community fundraisers, volunteers and supporters through effective toolkits, campaigns and engagement programmes.
Lead public appeals and individual donor campaigns, with a focus on acquiring new donors and converting one time donors into regular supporters.
Develop engaging supporter journeys that move people from awareness and participation to donation, regular giving and advocacy.
Work with Marketing and Communications to develop compelling campaign messages, stories, digital content and calls to action.
Lead major public fundraising campaigns and events from concept through implementation, evaluation and reporting.
Use donor and campaign data to improve targeting, acquisition, retention and fundraising performance.
Manage fundraising budgets, monitor campaign returns and provide regular performance reports and insights to management.
Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant regulations, data protection requirements and ethical fundraising standards.
Collaborate with senior management, programme teams and other functions to connect fundraising opportunities with organisational priorities and impact.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Fundraising, Nonprofit Management or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, community engagement, marketing, public campaigns, business development or a related field.
Proven track record in developing and delivering successful public or community fundraising campaigns.
Experience achieving income, donor acquisition or engagement targets.
Strong understanding of individual giving, donor acquisition, retention, regular giving and supporter journeys.
Strong relationship building and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and mobilise diverse community stakeholders and volunteers.
Good understanding of digital fundraising, social media, crowdfunding and online giving platforms.
Strong project management, analytical and budget management skills.
Experience with CRM or donor management systems such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge would be an advantage.
Creative, energetic and resourceful, with a strong passion for community engagement and fundraising.
High level of integrity, resilience and professionalism with the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation.
