A family-owned leader in funeral service, serving Metro Detroit through three locations in Troy and Royal Oak, is seeking a reliable, hardworking Funeral Associate to join our team.
This is a hands-on, physically active position for someone who is dependable, professional and comfortable getting the job done. You’ll work alongside funeral directors and assist with transportation, facility setup, service logistics and the many details that keep a funeral service running smoothly.
This is not a desk job. You’ll be on your feet, behind the wheel, moving, preparing facilities and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities
- Assist funeral directors with funeral services and visitations
- Safely and respectfully transport deceased individuals to and from funeral homes and other locations
- Move caskets, furniture, equipment and other funeral service items
- Set up and break down chapels, visitation rooms and service areas
- Receive and move floral arrangements
- Monitor parking areas and direct traffic during services
- Plan efficient driving routes and arrive at destinations on time
- Keep facilities and service areas organized and prepared
- Greet and assist families and guests
- Answer phones and direct calls
- Step in wherever needed to support funeral directors and the team
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who shows up, works hard and takes responsibility for the job.
- Dependable, punctual and willing to take initiative
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work and standing for extended periods
- Able to routinely lift and move 60 pounds or more
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Safe, confident and competent driver comfortable throughout Metro Detroit
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
- Team-oriented with good judgment and a willingness to help
- Comfortable working around deceased individuals
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Respectful of confidentiality and the families we serve
- Able to work a schedule that includes days, evenings and weekends
