Furniture Varnisher / Wood Finishing Specialist
Summary
Applies stains, varnishes, and protective coatings to wooden furniture using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring a smooth, high-quality finish.

- Working hours: Monday to Saturday (9:30am - 6pm)
- Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $2,800 + Performance Bonus

Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare wooden furniture surfaces through sanding, cleaning, filling and repairing minor surface defects.
- Mix and match stains, paints, varnishes and finishing materials according to the required colour and finish.
- Apply varnish, lacquer, stain, paint or other protective coatings using brushes, rollers or spray equipment.
- Perform spray painting and finishing work on furniture and wooden components.
- Inspect completed work to ensure an even, smooth and high-quality finish.
- Carry out touch-up, polishing and rectification work where required.
- Maintain and clean varnishing tools, spray guns, equipment and the work area.
- Handle furniture and materials carefully to prevent damage.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in furniture varnishing, wood finishing, spray painting or a related trade.
- Skilled in surface preparation, sanding, staining, varnishing, spraying, polishing and touch-up work.
- Able to identify and achieve different colours, textures and finishing requirements.
- Familiar with the safe handling of varnishes, lacquers, solvents, paints and spray equipment.
