*Future Opportunities* Handbag Designer - NYC

General Summary: This position is responsible for helping to develop product lines representative of the brand.

Major Responsibilities:

• Concept, and Design product from start to finish including new artwork and hardware development.
• Study markets, shop retail, and interact with consumer to establish trends.
• Source and choose materials (leather, fabric, ornamentation) for samples.
• Present sample as envisioned.
• Organizational work for division
• Special projects as needed
• Other duties may be assigned, including production approvals.

• Good time management and organizational skills required
• Sketching ability
• Must use Illustrator to sketch and Illustrator/Photoshop for print artwork development.
• Detail oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Interpersonal interactions such as coaching, negotiating, selling, and making group presentations.
• Independently examines complex information and/or situations, evaluates potential impact, options, and makes recommendations.
• Work responsibilities frequently concern confidential and/or sensitive information requiring the use of discretion at all times.
• Teamwork and cooperation are essential to the successful completion of own and others job duties.
• Ability to perform complex verbal and written communications face-to-face and in- group settings.
• Job duties are widely diverse, and frequently require conceptualizing, planning, and implementing.

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:

• College degree in the arts preferred
• 7 plus years experience in fashion handbag industry
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD preferred
• Knowledge of target market

Language Skills:

• Good verbal and written communication skills required
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of a foreign language helpful (Chinese, Spanish)
